3D BIM Model – Derry’s Department Store Plymouth
Our major redevelopment project of this former Department Store in Plymouth City Centre will become a multi-purpose building. This will be home to 500 students, a Premier Inn hotel and ground floor retail units.
Belfast based Architect C60 have created this immersive 3D BIM (Building Information Model) of the building.
Moving through the walkthrough video of the former Derry’s Department Store provides an idea of the scale of the project. This is a working model which is used across the architecture, engineering, and construction team to provide the insight and tools to more efficiently plan, design, construct, and manage the building and it’s infrastructure.
The redevelopment will cover 28,000m2 of floor space and will utilise a much loved building, injecting life and vibrancy into Plymouth City centre. Derry’s Department Store was once one of Plymouth’s best known stores, which opened as the Co-operative in 1953. It closed its doors for the final time in July 2010.
