Brookfield Mill – Social Housing Project of the Year 🏆
Thank-you to the Construction Employers Federation for fantastic award of Best Social Housing project. This vacant mill building on Crumlin Road, Belfast was redeveloped into 77 social residential units;
55 Apartments
22 Duplex Apartments
The Brookfield Mill complex comprises a four storey linen factory built in 1850. As one of Belfast’s main mills, it was jointly responsible for producing a third of the world’s flax supplies.
A complex project from the outset, requiring intricate structural engineering and an extremely detailed design process. A fifth floor was also added for additional accommodation.
We are delighted with the final result, ensuring this landmark building remains as a functional housing development, delivering much needed social housing.
This project was delivered for Kerr Property Group and Clanmil Housing with Taylor and Boyd Engineers and Boyd Partnership Architects.
